Test of Honour Unboxing (Geisha Spy)

Geisha Spy

Hey Game Fans, we’re back with an unboxing article on one of the expansion sets for Test of Honour.  We’re going to take a look at the figure, the cards, and any other odds and ends that come with it.  Let’s dig into the components and see what you can put together out of the box.

The Figure

Now this particular Clam Pack contains 1 metal figure.

The metal figure is one metal geisha spy character with separate hands (fan goes in front, stabbing knife is hiding behind her back).  You’ll need to drill out a hole it base for that metal peg to slot into.  Like the Unarmoured Samurai pack, this figure has a lot of flat, easy spaces to paint.

The Cards

There are two primary types of cards that come in each of these expansions.  First, you’ll be getting recruitment cards to match the new units available in the box.  Each Recruitment card included will have a breakdown like the one we did for the Starter Set.  You can find our original article on the Recruitment cards for the starter set (and the Samurai Warband box) here.  The card breakdowns for the current set are listed below.

Recruitment Cards

Geisha Spy
The Geisha Spy is a 5 recruitment cost model.  She is a unique figure, with 4 Aim, 4 Agility, 3 Strength, 6 wits, 3 honour, and 2 activations.  She has the +1 damage bonus for being unarmoured that comes with the unarmoured upgrade, but has one of the most interesting abilities i have seen.  The Geisha Spy can’t be attacked with a Charge or Shoot action until she has made a charge action.  She comes equipped with a dagger.

While she isn’t a character that’s going to cause a lot of harm to other models, she also can’t be targeted until you choose to allow her to be targeted.  With 6 Wits, she’s an ideal character for looking for treasure or finding hidden objectives.  She provides a different Hero for building warbands that aren’t quite so honorable, putting her in good company with the Bandits and Brigands set, the Ronin, or some of the other warbands.

Additional Cards

Beyond the Recruitment card, the Geisha Spy Clampack comes with no extra cards of any kind.

Conclusions

The Geisha Spy is a neat change of pace for the hero characters you can select for Test of Honour.  With a different statline and a fairly unique ability, the Geisha Spy is capable of playing to the objectives of the game and there really aren’t a lot of choices for your opponent to deal with her.  She’s got some neat potential synergies with other warbands and i think she adds some serious value to the options of Test of Honour.  Unfortunately, like the Unarmoured Samurai, she isn’t available in stores, but you might be able to find the clampack at an event near you.  Game On, Game Fans.
